A Balkan academic network has been formed between the faculties of political science from Podgorica, Belgrade and Sarajevo

     Sociological Center of Montenegro – SOCEN, Humanities Studies, Unive-rsity of Donja Gorica in Podgorica, Faculty of Political Science, University of Belgrade and Faculty of Political Sciences, University of Sarajevo signed a Memorandum of Cooperation on the project “European Identity and European Value System as a point of connection of the Western Balkans” ”, financially supported by the Western Balkans Regional Fund.

     The memorandum, in line with the planned activities of the project, aims to improve the level of cooperation among young researchers and scientists from the Western Balkans: Montenegro, Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina; improve exchange programs for teachers and young researchers between scientific institutions in Montenegro, Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as increase awareness of teachers, young researchers and scientists about the importance of regional cooperation, interconnection and scientific networking programs in the region, and increase science popularization, scientific methodologies and scientific solutions to overcome the challenges facing young people in the Western Balkans region.

    By signing the Memorandum of Cooperation, the project partners also formed the Balkan Academic Network, a joint academic platform that will deepen and expand the potential of scientific cooperation in our region. Membership in the Balkan Academic Network will open the opportunity to create joint projects, organize joint scientific conferences, publish joint publications and intensify the exchange of lecturers and researchers. Membership in the Balkan Academic Network will be open, and therefore other faculties / universities with similar specializations in the social sciences and humanities will have the opportunity to join.

   The project “European Identity and the European Value System as a Connecting Point for the Western Balkans” aims to promote regional and cross-border cooperation, good neighborly relations and strengthen regional cohesion in the field of education and research in the Western Balkans. The project will enable the improvement of regional cooperation between the countries of the Western Balkans in the field of education and scientific research activities, and stimulate the mobility and exchange of lecturers and young researchers from Montenegro, the Republic of Serbia and the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
