European identity and the European value system as points of connection between the countries of the Western Balkans

Within the program “Science and Education”, the Sociological Center of Montenegro is implementing a project entitled “European identity and European value system as a point of connection of the Western Balkans” with the financial support of the Regional Fund for the Western Balkans (Western Balkans Fund).

Partners participating in the implementation of the project together with SOCEN are the Humanities of the University of Donja Gorica in Podgorica, the Faculty of Political Science of the University of Belgrade and the Faculty of Political Science of the University of Sarajevo.

The project aims to promote regional and cross-border cooperation, good neighborly relations and strengthen regional cohesion in the field of education and research activities in the Western Balkans region. By implementing a series of activities, the project will enable the improvement of regional cooperation between the countries of the Western Balkans in the field of education and scientific research, and stimulate mobility and exchange of lecturers and young researchers from Montenegro, Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina. The key results of the project are aimed at enhanced cooperation among young researchers and scientists from the Western Balkans: Montenegro, Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina; improved exchange programs for teachers and young researchers among scientific institutions in Montenegro, Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as raising awareness among teachers, young researchers and scientists about the importance of regional cooperation programs, interconnection and scientific networking in the region, and increasing science popularization, scientific methodologies and scientific solutions to overcome the challenges facing young people in the Western Balkans region.

The implementation of the project, within a period of twelve months, provides for a number of activities, the key of which are related to organizing joint online consultation sessions with lecturers, developing a joint curriculum of European studies, establishing a Balkan academic network, organizing guest lectures between partner institutions and regional schools on European integration and the application of the European system of values ​​in the countries of the Western Balkans, which will bring together students and lecturers from the region, but also many others.
